The Only One

Lately I feel that I have loved people more than I have loved God. I have idolized dreams and experiences over devotion to the King. I was talking to a friend this week and I felt convicted that I have been so focused on myself and what I want that I have forgotten about the beauty of following Jesus. The fire is still burning but the flame is not burning with the boldness it once was. Yes, I read my Bible twice a day, I volunteer at Church, I constantly try to pour into others, but if I am lacking complete contentment in Christ then I am utterly despondent. To be transparent, I have been struggling so deeply with the season of life the Lord has me in right now. I am constantly worried about my relationship with others, I am overwhelmed with schoolwork and preparation for YWAM, and I feel that nothing I do is quite enough. I’ve had the realization that I’ll never be enough, say enough, or do enough because I’m not supposed to be enough for myself. In these seasons I become so utterly aware of my need for Jesus. I hear His still voice in the midst of the craziness. I see His love eagerly awaiting to redeem me. I sit here and look out at this incredible view. Set a fire within my soul Lord. Ignite a flame so big that it is unstoppable. Let my focus be you in every aspect of my life. Let my love for you flow into every aspect of my life. May I stop worrying and stressing, but rather resting in the freedom of your perfect love. 1 John 4:18 says, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.” Let the Lord’s love consume you and your mind. Be so fixated on Him that His will is all that concerns you. The worries of the world slowly fade as we fix eyes on our creator. For the one who is in a season that just seems to be too much, the Lord’s love is within you. He is working, I promise. His love for us is one that we have never experienced. It is different from any love this earth has ever offered. God’s love is enough when we are not. God’s love is all we need and more. Why worry about anything when you have God’s love in this current moment? When we focus on Him everything else is seemingly more manageable because we realize we are not alone. Christ has such a beautiful plan for each of our lives. Be fixated on His love, not your circumstances. He is the only one that can fill the void. He is the only one that is enough. He is the only one that loves every single flaw and imperfection you have. He is the only one that will love you perfectly and fully to complete satisfaction. He is the only one. Forever. I love you sweet Jesus. Thank you Lord for being enough, for being the only one, and for loving me when I don’t deserve your love.
