The lover of my soul. The one who loves me perfectly and without flaw. The one who provides security, healing, and an endless pursuit after my heart. The one who tells me I’m clothed in dignity in strength. The one who looks at me with adoration. The one who calls me beloved. The one who loves my wildly, passionately, and lavishly. The one who makes my heart so joyful I cannot contain it. The one who gazes upon me and sees an enriching beauty because of what is on the inside, not the outside. The one who says I am enough. The one who never wavers in His love for me, but everyday chooses to love me. This love. This is the love I long for and the love that I get to experience each and every day. Jesus. He is our one true love, the one that first loved us. He is our first and forever love. I think the biggest thing I have been learning lately is what falling in love with Jesus truly means. Being content with just Jesus and embracing the depths of His love is transformational. His love is better than anything we could ever experience on this earth. Moreover, I’ve been writing an essay for English class in which I am contrasting Biblical love to worldly love. While writing this I have only deepened my understanding of God’s love for His children. God’s love is sacrificial, unconditional, and an everyday choice. The world tries so hard to make love seem like the thing that will complete us, bring satisfaction and fulfillment, and will seemingly make all of our problems go away. This is such a lie. However, living from a place of God’s love does complete us, brings satisfaction and fulfillment, and doesn’t make all of our problems go away, but rather gives us a purpose to facing those problems because we know that God is working for us. I want to encourage you today to fall in love with Jesus. Fall in love with His heart for you. Fall in love with how faithful He is to keep His promises. Get away with Him and rest in His presence. Furthermore, at the college ministry I go to they sang this song called “Just as I am.” I think the lyrics are pretty powerful:

I come broken to be mended

I come wounded to be healed

I come desperate to be rescued

I come empty to be filled

I come guilty to be pardoned

By the blood of Christ the Lamb

And I'm welcomed with open arms

Praise God, just as I am

I think one of the most beautiful things about God’s love is that it does not have requirements. He wants you for who you are. Just as I am He loves me. Just as you are He loves you. You are perfectly loved. Psalm 23:1 says, “The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” In Him we lack nothing because He is enough, He satisfies, and His love completes us. You are wildly loved by the Lord. Cling to that. You already have everything because Jesus is everything. Embrace this love that is so freely given to you just as you are. You are loved. You are His beloved. Fall in love with Jesus, it is the realest love you will ever experience.
