Come Away With Him

Another view of a sunset I can’t put into words. Another moment that feels so sweet. A breath of fresh air as I step into the freedom Christ offers. These moments are my favorite. Last night was the first time I had done a real prayer time in a while. I say real because it wasn't a quick, “God please do this, thanks for the food, thank you for that. Amen.” Rather, it was a moment of complete transparency with the Lord as I sought Him to come into every area of my life. I quickly realized how important it is to just simply be with the Lord. Oftentimes we get so caught up in doing that we forget Jesus cares about a relationship with Him. Genuine time devoted to Him alone. Yes, it is so good to volunteer at Church, pour into others, and attend Church, but if we are pouring out in all of those aspects when are we getting poured into? It is in those still moments between me and Jesus when I feel His presence like no other. He whispers “Come away with me Beloved.” It is in those moments when you can just simply be before the Lord that He can fill you because you aren’t doing, you aren’t trying, you are simply being. I realized just how much I need time with Him, where I can be completely real with Him. A time where I pour out my heart and patiently await an answer from the Lord. A time where I can reflect on all the Lord has taught me on that day. A time where I can think about God’s promises and His great faithfulness to me. A time where I can truly revel in the Father’s love, feel His grace surrounding me, walk in the freedom He offers, and live in the abundance of life with Him. I encourage you, dear friend, to find a time in your day to get away with God. Be real with Him, pour yourself out to Him so He can fill you up. Sit in the stillness and silence with Him. Allow His wild love for you to fill every part of your being. He doesn’t want your work, He wants you. You at all times and in every circumstance. He is passionately pursuing your heart. Spend time with the one who is this deeply in love with you!!
